Poem a day, 2: September 2nd 2010

Repetitions seem to gather on birthdays.
As on this day, walking the dog
down a path I have already walked
a thousand times without the dog.
I brought my girlfriend. We
shielded our faces from the sun
using one hand to cover the light
and another to cover its brother
in the lake. The dog chased
another dog. A big one. The big one
chased a ball. There were two
causes for everything, and at least
six days I could remember. One more.
